Curriculum

This curriculum document has been written in full awareness of the relevant professional standards and guidelines.

The curriculum has 4 tiers of Incident Commander competences aligned to International frameworks, including the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), CAP699, NFPA, and the UK SFJ Awards. They include multi-agency working best practices and competences, which are integrated across all 4 competence tiers.

 The curriculum is designed as a framework to support overall officer development and build confident, competent officers. It should be utilized during officer training sessions to support the development of the skills and attributes required of an Effective Commander. Use it alongside certified NFPA qualifications and the Effective Command training & development toolkit.
